Nintendo's all-star cast of combatants are back, along with a new batch of brawlers ready to tear it up on Nintendo GameCube. Super Smash Bros. Melee is the ultimate four-player fighting game with unpredictable action and non-stop animated onslaughts.
Super Smash Bros. Melee features over 20 characters to choose from, many of which must be unlocked. Here is the complete list of playable characters:

As you might guess, the most striking aspect of Super Smash Bros. Melee is its incredible visuals. Mario's overalls are detailed down to the rivets, and Princess Peach's dress flutters in the breeze with amazing realism. Special attacks take full advantage of Nintendo GameCube's potential for spectacular lighting effects, and there is no slow-down whatsoever even when the screen fills up with swarming Unown Pokιmon.
In addition to new characters, Super Smash Bros. Melee also features all-new battle arenas, gameplay modes, options and stat tracking. A beefed-up single-player mode ensures that even solo brawlers will be entertained.
