Released in 2005, the previous free game TrackMania Nations held the record of the largest online car race with 132 players running on the same track. With the release of TrackMania Nations Forever and its tremendous popularity, the record was quickly broken, as the Guinness book has recorded a race with 250 players taking part in an online race simultaneously!
