The behavior of guards and enemies in a stealth action game is very important. You need to feel that your actions are being taken realistically and bring responded to in the correct way. In Alias, we have lots of stances for the enemies to be in. They will either be in patrol mode, guard mode, investigating mode or attack mode. Their modes will change depending on what they have seen or heard. Unlike other games, your enemy has sight and hearing awareness. For example, if you are at a distance and the guards hear you moving around but cant see you, they will come over to investigate. You cant cheat the game by running off and hoping not to be found. Just like in real life, the guards will contact one another to be on the look out. You can also escape the guards by distracting them. For example, you can pick up a soda can and throw it. This will result in the nearby guard venturing off and allowing you to sneak by. Throwing various items is also a great way to make guards turn around so that you can stealth kill them.
