Athens 2004 has been designed to capture the spirit and emotion of the Olympic games while providing the most detailed and comprehensive Olympic licensed videogame ever made. Athens 2004 joins the 989 Sports lineup with twice as many events, countries, actual stadiums and venues than any other Olympic licensed game. Furthermore, Athens 2004 allows users to compete in three modes of play including Practice, Arcade and Competition Mode while choosing one of sixty-four countries, five continents and 800 different athletes/characters. The latest Olympic experience consists of six categories including Track & Field, Swimming, Gymnastics, Shooting, Weightlifting and Equestrian. Virtual athletes in Athens 2004 will be able to participate in more than 25 events including the 100 Meters, 110 Meter Hurdles, Long Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Decathlon, 100 Meter Breaststroke, 100 Meter Butterfly, Gymnastics Floor Exercise, Long Horse Vault, Mens Rings, Archery, and numerous other Olympic events.
