The free trial version of Repton 1 makes an intriguing taster for anyone who is new to these games; it features a gradual build-up of well-known Repton techniques:
Level 1 is a fairly easy introduction – illustrated in the screenshot above.
Level 2 includes eggs and monsters, and contains some classic puzzles.
Level 3 brings in the safes and a key, and more challenging puzzles.
