Siege is a medieval mod for Battlefield 1942. This version contains two maps, Agincourt and Siege of Orleans.
The Battle of Agincourt was fought during the Hundred Year's War on October 25,
1415. The retreating army of King Henry V of England faced the numerically
superior army of Charles VI of France. The English army, using the advantages of
the terrain, came out victorious against the heavily armoured French cavalry
which got bogged down in the mud and was wiped out in the hail of arrows that
rained down upon them. It was one of the turning points in the war.
In 1428 The English started besieging the town of Orleans, a key bridgehead to
the southern cities of France. It was the largest remaining fortified position
held by the French. The siege lasted for months until the momentum swung towards
the French when Joan of Arc led a relief force which lifted the siege in 1429.
